This year was a very good year and I am so appreciative. I built my business (Cindy Tripp & Company,LLC) and enjoyed working for other businesses (LPA Associates and UC Lindner School of Business) and with awesome clients and Boards. I had meaningful family time. I enjoyed a series of firsts (first fundraising effort for LLS and first book collaboration, Strategic Design Thinking) that challenged me to step into unchartered territory I have feared. And, I blogged 12 times (vs. my 36 blog intention). It was not a perfect year but it was a wonderful one and I think it boils down to this: I was present. I was alert and tuned in this year. I am disappointed to admit that I cannot say that about every year of my life, as it is easy to be distracted. This year I was focused and present. Are you? When you are present things bloom, especially relationships which are the cornerstone of a happy life or a healthy business. As I reflect on this insight, I see it in the messages I posted this year in my blogs –there is power to tuning in. Here are a few worth scanning again for inspiration on this topic as we begin our journey into 2016 with the hope of health and happiness at work and home.
Take Action
Catch yourself tuning out(we all do it) and interrupt that behavior for being truly present for what is at hand, whether that be an important business moment or family one. Put down the smart phone and look at someone directly, fully taking in what is happening. Pay attention. Listen. Respond with full engagement. Watch your business and your personal life bloom.
